Switzerland on Film | Dallas Texas Photographer

Part of Tony's rehab right now includes walking at an incline so I thought, "Why not take this rehab to Switzerland?". HAHA. In hindsight, some of it was probably a bit much 2 months post-surgery, but he trucked along through all the hiking and walking around like a champ.

On Day 1, we drove from our Airbnb in Frutigen to Kandersteg where we took the cable car up and then hiked to beautiful Oenschinensee Lake. This is where we first heard the Swiss cows. Each cow has a big bell around it's neck, so as you are hiking through the mountains all you can hear is the jingling of dozens of cowbells. It's the coolest thing! For dinner we went to a restaurant in Frutigen where we ate some fancy but badass Thai food from a Michelin chef.

Day 2 we took an afternoon trip to Grindelwald, which is by far the most stunning place I've ever seen. It's crazy touristy and expensive here, but it's that way for a reason. We spent the rest of the day at Jungfrau, an adventurer's paradise. Tony isn't well enough to do the extreme sports yet, so we hiked an hour to a lake, and eventually the skies cleared enough to do the cliff walk that overlooks all of Grindelwald. We finished off the day with some beer and the famous Swiss fondue.

Day 3 we had to drive back, but stopped in Bern along the way. It reminds me of a more expensive, less cool Prague. While there we ate some Mexican street food, walked around, bought some Swiss chocolate. Swiss chocolate replaces Belgian chocolate as my number 1 favorite!
